Analysis of Contents page of a college magazine
I don't think this is a very good example of a contents page for a college magazine, it is very busy and has a lot of writing, most of the writing on the page doesn't really need to be there. This is basically everything that is on the right hand side of the page. It only has one picture and it doesn't really show much of what is going on.
I like that the title for the page is big and bold and the colour scheme id black, yellow and pink. I don't like how he page is laid out as he picture is put at the top left of the page and the writing everywhere else, it doesn't really seem organized.
I prefer this contents page to the one above as this looks organized and very well presented. Many pictures are used and we can see what is going on e.g. the portrait of the head teacher and the football game underneath. The colour scheme is nice and simple this is pink and blue. I like how the title is bold and underlined and how the page titles copy this just without them being underlined.
I like the fact it is simple and easy to read and understand, it doesn't have a lot of information because it doesn't need much but it still tells us what we need to know.
Analysis of Front cover of a college magazine
The front cover has sub-heading e.g. 'Fresher's 2012' and 'Outstanding results nationwide' the colours differ but only from black to pink, this shows the colour scheme is black and pink.
The cover also has rhetorical question that you may need answers to which makes you want to read the magazine. This in my opinion is a god example of a font cover magazine as thee are many sub-headings which will real the reader in, has a suitable image for the subject and a suitable title, the colour scheme is nice and appealing. The only thing I do no like about this front cover is that the layout and background image make I seem really cluttered and busy to the eye.
I find this in my opinion a much better front cover than the one above. I like the colour scheme and font very much as it is appealing to the eye. The medium close up of the student looks like it has been taken in a studio or against a white background I like this as it does not look cluttered or too busy. I find the fact that they have used the same colour jacket as the box at the bottom quite a good idea as it links everything in and shows they have stuck to their colour scheme of black, pink and orange.
This front cover also has sub-headings e.g. 'win free gig tickets here' which is very intriguing and wanting people to read more as this is aimed at the correct audience of teenagers who attend college and most like to attend gig or concerts.
